Events are organized by various committees of the association in order to raise the profile of the organization in the community and to raise funds for election purposes.  Events held on an annual basis are as follows.

Rick Dykstra Annual Invitational Golf Tournament

The first tournament was held in 2005 and this has become a major event for the association.

The 2015 tournament will be held on Monday, June 29th, 2015. We are bringing the tournament into the heart of St. Catharines for the second year running, at the St. Catharines Golf and Country Club.  This course boasts a history of over 100 years of history and tradition!  We hope you can join us to make 2015 the best Tournament ever!

The entrance fee is $195 and includes a BBQ lunch and a fabulous executive dinner. After registering at 11 a.m. and eating a BBQ lunch, players teed-off at 1 p.m. in a shotgun start. They enjoyed a great day on the links, including closest to the pin, and putting contests, then sat down to relive the day’s exploits over a delicious executive dinner.

Hockey Night in St. Catharines

This event was first held in 2010 with funds raised going to the United Way of St. Catharines and District.

Hockey Night in St. Catharines 5 was a great event in 2014.  Last year’s game raised $182,200 for the United Way of St. Catharines and District and the Parkinson’s Rehabilitation Centre at Hotel Dieu Shaver.

Thanks to all of the United Way volunteers who helped make sure the event ran smoothly and to the hockey stars who took time out of their schedules to help raise money to help people in our community we have been able to raise over $700,000 over the last five years.

The United Way is working with the office of Rick Dykstra M.P. for St. Catharines, and other partners to make the sixth annual event even more successful. Learn more at Updates will be posted regularly on the event web site.

Annual Turkey Fund Raiser

This is a special fund raiser organized by the board of directors as a way to connect with members during the holiday season and prior to the Annual General Meeting in January.

Board members get together to call members, wish them a Merry Christmas, inform them of the upcoming AGM, and offer them an opportunity to make a donation in exchange for a gift certificate prior to the end of the year.
